One day, they captured a merchant named Supriya, a devoted follower of Lord Shiva, along with many others in a dungeon. Despite being imprisoned, Supriya didn't lose hope. Every single day, he wore his Rudraksha beads, applied holy ash, and continuously chanted "Om Namah Shivaya." He encouraged all prisoners to do the same.
Lord Shiva was deeply moved by this unwavering devotion. When Daruka tried to kill Supriya, Shiva appeared in his divine form, protected the devotees, and vanquished the demons. The Jyotirlinga that Supriya worshipped became eternal at this very spot.
